How
Does the Premium Shower Filter Work?
A patented mixture of zinc and copper called KDF-55,
plus crystal Quartz, converts Chlorine into Zinc Chloride.
Zinc is considered to be helpful in alleviating dandruff
and is used in anti-dandruff shampoos. Unlike carbon, KDF
stands up to hot water and is very effective in filtering
out Chlorine, odors and dirt particles. KDF possesses strong
bacteriostatic character, inhibiting the growth of bacteria,
fungus, algae and mildew. The Premium Shower Filter contains
14 oz. of KDF
and 2 oz. of crystal Quartz for enhanced performance.
How
Long will the Premium Shower Filter Last?
On average, the filter will last about one year.
Initially, the filter will remove 98% of the Chlorine. Over
time, the removal percentage declines until it is at about
87% after one year. Accordingly, we recommend annual cartridge
replacement.
Replacement
filter cartridges are available from our web site. Sending
in the warranty card allows New Wave Enviro to send a reminder
when it is time to change cartridges. (Customer names /
addresses are Not sold to any company).
Premium
Shower Filter- Installation and
Operation
- Unscrew and remove
the existing shower head from the shower arm (1/2 in.
pipe).
- To minimze water
drips, wrap the included teflon tape around the shower
arm and the filter (optional).
- Screw the Premium
Shower Filter onto the shower arm and screw the shower
head onto the Shower Filter. Hand Tighten Only- overtightening
can crack the filter housing.
- The Premium Showr
Filter is now ready for use. Simply turn on the water
as usual. The very first time the Shower Filter is used,
the water may take a minute or so to flow through.
- Whenever the Premium
Shower Filter is opened to replace the cartridge, the
o-rings there to keep the filter from leaking should be
properly seated in their channels, and rubbed with petroluem
jelly to keep them supple. Petroluem jelly can also be
used on the threads of the housing.
WARRANTY
The Premium Shower Filter housing is warranted for
1 year from date of purchase for defects or cracks. The
filter cartridge is warranted for one year from any manufacturing
malfunction. The useful life of the filter cartridge varies
depending on water conditions and usage and therefore cannnot
be under warranty for usage.
