*Molybdenum
(as TRACCS® molybdenum glycinate chelate)

Albion Mineral

Trace Mineral important to human health.
Molybdenum is added to Flex Naturally™ to aid in the metabolism of the added sulfur from MSM, and prevent molybdenum loss in the body due to increased organic sulfur intake.
This trace mineral is found in all tissues of the human body and is a key component of three important enzymes: xanthine oxidase, aldehyde oxidase, and sulfite oxidase. These enzymes are involved in fat oxidation and purine metabolism. Molybdenum aids in the mobilization of iron from the liver reserves and is involved in the metabolism of copper. Studies have shown the mineral to be important in the prevention of cavities and decreased rates of cancer of the esophagus.1

The process by which the body metabolizes sulfur containing molecules in drugs and foods and rids itself of sulfite food additives is called sulfoxidation. The enzyme sulfite oxidase which is dependent upon molybdenum is needed for this process to occur.1

Molybdenum deficiency may play a part in some cases of gouty arthritis.1, 2
