Flex
Naturally™
A Superior Joint Support Formula
Flex Naturally™ contains effective ingredients
to support healthy joint function and mobility.
Supplement Highlights Below
|
|
|
| •
Minerals
from Albion Labs as patented true amino acid
chelates for maximum absorption and utilization
such
as magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, chromium, selenium,
boron and molybdenum.
Most supplements use the inferior mineral forms such as
gluconate, carbonate, sulfate, and oxide which are difficult
to absorb and create digestive disturbances.
| Minerals
in the right forms are important to joint health because
they are involved in the following areas: |
• |
Required
for Hyaluronic Acid (HA) production,
a major component of joint tissue. It helps to hold
lubricating moisture (synovial fluid) in
joints and cartilage, which affects their resilience,
elasticity, and strength. Also has anti-inflammatory
properties. * |
• |
Required
for healthy synovial fluid production
and consistency for proper lubrication of the joints.
* |
• |
Required
for healthy production and maintenance of cartilage
and bone, and the support tissues tendons,
ligaments, and muscles.
* |
• |
Required
for DNA/RNA repair and their functions
for healthy cells that make up the joint structures
and tissues throughout the body. Failure to repair the
DNA/RNA contributes to weakened cells that make up body
tissues such as cartilage and bone resulting in their
deterioration and eventual destruction. * |
• |
Required
for production of SOD1, SOD2, SOD3,
and Glutathione Peroxdiase, powerful
free radical scavengers (antioxidant enzymes) that protect
the joint tissue, and other cells, from free radical
damage due to oxygen and other free radicals, and control
inflammation. * |
| • |
Required
for healthy blood sugar control. Chromium
along with magnesium, manganese, and zinc assist in
the proper utilization of insulin for healthy uptake
of blood glucose and efficient absorption of amino acids
for repair of body tissues such as cartilage, bone,
tendons, ligaments, and muscles, including the heart.
* |
• Vitamin C
(as magnesium ascorbate - non-acid) - needed to maintain
healthy collagen production for the formation of connective
tissue in skin, ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and bones.
A deficiency of vitamin C and its role in collagen production
can result in altered cartilage production and its repair.
*
• Silica
(Organic) from Horsetail Extract - Silica is found
throughout the body and is required to give the tissues
strength and stability. It is a structural part of collagen,
the glue that holds body tissues together. A deficiency
would contribute to the breakdown of the collagen weakening
tissues throughout the body such as cartilage and bone.
It is also required for healthy synovial fluid and tendons,
and is part of the skin, nails, hair, connective tissue,
blood vessels, and the eyes. *
• MSM - a natural source of organic sulfur,
is a natural anti-inflammatory and required for healthy
bone, cartilage, tendons, Iigaments, and synovial fluid
for proper lubrication of the joints. Works with selenium
in the production of glutathione peroxidase, a powerful
antioxidant that protects the cells against free radicals
and inflammation. *
• Glucosamine sulfate stabilized in a sodium
base for maximum effectiveness in supporting healthy cartilage
production. Other forms, such as glucosamine hydrochloride,
are not as effective because sulfur is critical because
of its involvement in the manufacture of healthy cartilage
tissue. *
• Collagen Type II (from chicken) - Vital
to the health and integrity of the cartilage matrix where
cartilage tissue is manufactured. 90% of collagen in cartilage
is type II. This natural source of high quality and highly
absorbable chicken collagen contains natural occurring collagen
II, glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfates A, B, and
C, cartilage matrix glycoprotein (CMGP), hyaluronic acid,
and other mucopolysaccharides, also called proteoglycans,
and amino acids found to support the structure and function
of joints, bones, skin, and cardiovascular system.*
• Seaweed (from kelp) - a natural source
of trace minerals and other nutrients found in the ocean.
Modern commercial farming methods and processed foods in
the American diet are woefully deficient in many of these
trace nutrients resulting in nutrient deficiency at the
cellular level impeding the body's ability to repair itself
and maintain healthy cell function. *

| Selenium
(as selenium glycinate complex) |
Free radicals are
natural by-products of oxygen metabolism that if left uncontrolled
can result in free radical damage to the cells of the cartilage
and other joint tissues resulting in inflammation, stiffness,
and pain, as well as the destruction of the joint tissues. The
important trace mineral selenium is incorporated into proteins
to make selenoproteins, such as the four glutathione peroxidase
enzymes (classical GPx1, gastrointestinal GPx2, plasma GPx3, phospholipid
hydroperoxide GPx4), which are important antioxidant enzymes which
protect cells from free radicals.
These free radicals can also contribute to diseases such as heart
and cancer.
Selenium is also inlvoved in thyroid
hormone metabolism and immune function. Return

Chromium
(as TRACCS® chromium nicotinate glycinate chelate)
Highest biologically active form and proven to be clincally
effective and safe. |
Required for
healthy blood sugar control. Chromium along with magnesium,
manganese, and zinc assist in the proper utilization of insulin
for healthy uptake of blood glucose and efficient absorption of
amino acids for repair of body tissues such as cartilage, bone,
tendons, ligaments, and muscles, including the heart. Supports blood
sugar balance, cholesterol metabolism, and energy production.
Along with a healthy program of exercise
and eating can assist in losing excess bodyfat thereby reducing
the workload on the joints, hips and knees, improving joint health
and reducing the pain and stiffness usually associated with excessive
bodyweight.*

Chromium
as an essential nutrient for humans.
Anderson RA. |
Chromium is an
essential nutrient required for sugar and fat metabolism.
Normal dietary intake of Chromium for humans
is sub optimal. The estimated safe and adequate daily dietary
intake for Chromium is 50 to 200 microg.
However, most diets contain less than 60% of the minimum suggested
intake of 50 microg. Insufficient dietary intake of Chromium
leads to signs and symptoms that are similar to those observed
for diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Supplemental Chromium
given to people with impaired glucose tolerance or diabetes
leads to improved blood glucose, insulin, and lipid variables.
Chromium has also been shown to improve lean
body mass in humans and swine. Response to Chromium
is dependent upon form and amount of supplemental Chromium.
Chromium is a nutrient; therefore, it will
only be of benefit to those who are marginally or overtly
Chromium deficient. Trivalent Chromium
has a very large safety range and there have been no documented
signs of Chromium toxicity in any of the
nutritional studies at levels up to 1 mg per day.
Regul Toxicol Pharmacol 1997 Aug;26(1 Pt 2):S35-41 |
|
Recent
advances in the clinical and
biochemical effects of chromium deficiency.
Anderson RA. |
Signs and symptoms
of Chromium deficiency in the general population
appear widespread due not only to sub optimal intake of dietary
Chromium but also the elevated consumption
of simple sugars that increase Chromium losses.
A large percentage of the subjects with marginally impaired
glucose tolerance or elevated circulating insulin respond
to supplemental Chromium. The mechanism of
action of Chromium in the potentiation of
insulin activity as well as the exact structure of biologically
active Chromium is unclear but significant
progress is being made. In summary, recent advances in Chromium
nutrition research strengthen the association of insufficient
dietary Chromium and risk factors maturity-onset
diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and further document
the role of Chromium in the maintenance of
optimal health.
