MultiPrime™
Offers Quality Nutrients and Sound Scientific Formulation |
This moderate potency
multiple is provided in just two tablets daily for individuals
who cannot or are reluctant to take the recommended six daily
tablets
or capsules
of our more comprehensive MultiFuel™ multiple vitamin/mineral
formulas.
MultiPrime™
uses similar nutrient sources as MultiFuel™ formulas to maintain
efficient bioavailability, but contains reduced amounts of calcium
and magnesium and several other nutrients.
Activated forms of folate (5-methyltetrahydrofolate and folinic
acid (5-formyltetrahydrofolate) and vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin
and 5-adenosylcobalamin) are included along with efficiently utilized
mineral forms, and natural fat-soluble vitamins.
Compared to common, over-the-counter multivitamin products delivered
in one tablet daily, MultiPrime™
offers enhanced antioxidant protection, broader trace element
nutrition, and augmented B-vitamin support. This core foundation
of essential nutrients thus provides an extra measure of nutritional
protection that can be recommended for daily use.
Easy to Swallow and Highly Absorbable
A clear, water-soluble cellulose coating protects the stability
of the nutritional ingredients and makes the tablets easy to swallow.
Each batch is tested using USP protocols to ensure tablet disintegration
time of 45 minutes or less to help maximize nutrient bioavailability.
Free of common allergens,
artificial flavors, preservatives, and colorings. |

Folate
Two bioactive forms for effcient absorption and use by the body.
folinic acid
(5-formyltetrahydrofolate) and 5-methyltetrahydrofolate)
|
Works with
vitamin B12 in production of red blood cells. Needed for DNA synthesis,
which controls heredity as well as tissue growth and repair and
cell function. Promotes normal homocysteine metabolism.
A bioactive form of folate, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate,
that is highly absorbable and unlike synthetic
folic acid, does not have to be converted to be used by the body.

Vitamin
B12
Two
bioactive forms for effcient absorption and use by the body.
(methylcobolamin and
S-adeonsylcobolamin) |
Aids formation
of red blood cells and maintenance of the brain and central nervous
system. Promotes normal homocysteine metabolism.
Most multiples contain the synthetic form, cyancobalamin, of B12.
It is very difficult to absorb and must be converted by the body
before it can be used. A process that is not very efficient in
most people, especially older people, and those suffering from
illnesses and nutrient deficiencies required for the conversion
process. Even when the synthetic form of B12, cyanocobalamin,
is taken as a sublingual it still has to be be converted before
it can be used. However, the two forms of B12 in MultiFuel™
are easily
absorbed and require no conversion process
as they are already in the bioactive forms, methylcobalamin
and S-adeonsylcobolamin, allowing them to work as soon as they
enter the bloodstream.

Chromium
as an essential nutrient for humans.
Anderson RA. |
Chromium is an
essential nutrient required for sugar and fat metabolism.
Normal dietary intake of Chromium for humans
is suboptimal. The estimated safe and adequate daily dietary
intake for Chromium is 50 to 200 microg.
However, most diets contain less than 60% of the minimum suggested
intake of 50 microg. Insufficient dietary intake of Chromium
leads to signs and symptoms that are similar to those observed
for diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Supplemental Chromium
given to people with impaired glucose tolerance or diabetes
leads to improved blood glucose, insulin, and lipid variables.
Chromium has also been shown to improve lean
body mass in humans and swine. Response to Chromium
is dependent upon form and amount of supplemental Chromium.
Chromium is a nutrient; therefore, it will
only be of benefit to those who are marginally or overtly
Chromium deficient. Trivalent Chromium
has a very large safety range and there have been no documented
signs of Chromium toxicity in any of the
nutritional studies at levels up to 1 mg per day.
Regul Toxicol Pharmacol 1997 Aug;26(1 Pt 2):S35-41 |
|
Recent
advances in the clinical and
biochemical effects of chromium deficiency.
Anderson RA. |
Signs and symptoms
of Chromium deficiency in the general population
appear widespread due not only to suboptimal intake of dietary
Chromium but also the elevated consumption
of simple sugars that increase Chromium losses.
A large percentage of the subjects with marginally impaired
glucose tolerance or elevated circulating insulin respond
to supplemental Chromium. The mechanism of
action of Chromium in the potentiation of
insulin activity as well as the exact structure of biologically
active Chromium is unclear but significant
progress is being made. In summary, recent advances in Chromium
nutrition research strengthen the association of insufficient
dietary Chromium and risk factors maturity-onset
diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and further document
the role of Chromium in the maintenance of
optimal health.
