MultiFuel™
offers quality nutrients and sound scientific formulation
MultiFuel™ is a versatile, high
potency multiple vitamin and mineral supplement formulated to be
the primary dietary supplement for all types of people. Especially
recommended for men, postmenopausal women, and women with light
or normal menstrual flow who may not need supplemental iron. |
| More
complete families of nutrients for natural balance and safety
• 100% natural vitamin E complex containing all of the mixed
tocopherol isomers (d-alpha, d-beta, d-gamma, and d-delta), contributing
to greater antioxidant protection.
• Contains both preformed natural-source vitamin A (retinol)
and its carotene precurser for more complete vitamin A nutrition.
• The all natural source
mixed carotenoids, include alpha and beta carotenes, lutein, zeaxanthin,
and cryptoxanthin which offer more diverse benefits and are safer
than synthetic carotene.
• Offers
a complete vitamin B-complex which supports many metabolic functions
and includes significant amounts of the important B vitamins such
as B6, folic acid, and B12 to avoid the toxic buidlup of an amino
acid called homocysteine which can contribute to heart disease
and bone loss. To assist in the efficient absorption and bioavailability
of folic acid the active form 5-methyltetrahydrofolate is provided.
Also, the active forms of B12, methylcobolamine and S-adeonsylcobolamin,
are utilized.
Superior mineral and trace element compounds with validated
bioavailability
• True
amino acid chelates from Albion Laboratories are fully-reacted,
low molecular weight mineral compounds that are well tolerated
and scientifically documented as being very bioavailable.
• Calcium
citrate-malate is a well-studied source of supplemental calcium
that has proven to have higher absorption and effectiveness than
many other sources of calcium.
• The
mineral complexes, chromium and vanadium, are organically bound
resulting in higher physiological activity.
Iron-Free
Being an iron-free
formula makes MultiFuel™ most suitable for the majority
of people. Supplemental iron is unnecessary for most adult men
and women and may be potentially harmful, as too much has been
associated with heart disease, arthritis, and cellular damage.
Copper, Zinc Balance and Antioxidant
Protection
Copper is included because of its importance for SOD, Super Oxide
Dismutase, antioxidant enzyme activity and to maintain a healthy
balance with zinc.
Easy to Swallow and Highly
Absorbable
A clear, water-soluble cellulose coating protects the stability
of the nutritional ingredients and makes the tablets easy to swallow.
Each batch is tested using USP protocols to ensure tablet disintegration
time of 45 minutes or less to help maximize nutrient bioavailability.
Free of common allergens,
artificial flavors, preservatives, and colorings.

| VITAMINS |
| Vitamin
A |
Helps formation and maintenance of healthy teeth, skeletal and soft
tissue, mucous membranes, and skin. Promotes good vision and is
required for reproduction and lactation. Beta-carotene is a vitamin
A precursor with protective antioxidant properties. Other carotenes
also provide antioxidant protection.
Immune system enhancement.

acid |
Works
with vitamin B12 in production of red blood cells. Needed for DNA
synthesis, which controls heredity as well as tissue growth and
repair and cell function. Promotes normal homocysteine metabolism.
Return

| Vitamin
B12 |
Aids
formation of red blood cells and maintenance of the brain and central
nervous system. Promotes normal homocysteine metabolism.
Most multiples contain the synthetic form, cyancobalamin, of B12.
It is very difficult to absorb and must be converted by the body
before it can be used. A process that is not very efficient in most
people, especially older people, and those suffering from illnesses
and nutrient deficiencies required for the conversion process. Even
when the synthetic form
of B12, cyanocobalamin, is taken as
a sublingual it still has to be be converted before it can be used.
However, the two forms of B12 in MultiFuel™ are
easily absorbed
and require no conversion process as they are already in the bioactive
forms, methylcobalamin and S-adeonsylcobolamin,
allowing them to work as soon as they enter the bloodstream.

Chromium
as an essential nutrient for humans.
Anderson RA. |
Chromium is an
essential nutrient required for sugar and fat metabolism.
Normal dietary intake of Chromium for humans
is suboptimal. The estimated safe and adequate daily dietary
intake for Chromium is 50 to 200 microg.
However, most diets contain less than 60% of the minimum suggested
intake of 50 microg. Insufficient dietary intake of Chromium
leads to signs and symptoms that are similar to those observed
for diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Supplemental Chromium
given to people with impaired glucose tolerance or diabetes
leads to improved blood glucose, insulin, and lipid variables.
Chromium has also been shown to improve lean
body mass in humans and swine. Response to Chromium
is dependent upon form and amount of supplemental Chromium.
Chromium is a nutrient; therefore, it will
only be of benefit to those who are marginally or overtly
Chromium deficient. Trivalent Chromium
has a very large safety range and there have been no documented
signs of Chromium toxicity in any of the
nutritional studies at levels up to 1 mg per day.
Regul Toxicol Pharmacol 1997 Aug;26(1 Pt 2):S35-41 |
|
Recent
advances in the clinical and
biochemical effects of chromium deficiency.
Anderson RA. |
Signs and symptoms
of Chromium deficiency in the general population
appear widespread due not only to suboptimal intake of dietary
Chromium but also the elevated consumption
of simple sugars that increase Chromium losses.
A large percentage of the subjects with marginally impaired
glucose tolerance or elevated circulating insulin respond
to supplemental Chromium. The mechanism of
action of Chromium in the potentiation of
insulin activity as well as the exact structure of biologically
active Chromium is unclear but significant
progress is being made. In summary, recent advances in Chromium
nutrition research strengthen the association of insufficient
dietary Chromium and risk factors maturity-onset
diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and further document
the role of Chromium in the maintenance of
optimal health.
